Dragon Fruit is a beautiful tropical fruit from the cactus plant and is known for its vibrant color and digestive properties.

You’ll typically find three types of Dragon Fruit: yellow, white, and red. Yellow Dragon Fruit or Pitahaya [pronounced peeta-yah] is the sweetest variety and has the strongest digestive properties. It is best eaten fresh by the spoonful. White Dragon Fruit is known for its vibrant magenta skin and white pulp, and due to its earthy flavor often added to sweet or savory salads and smoothies. Red Dragon Fruit has a deep magenta pulp and skin and has a milder sweet flavor. It is great in smoothies or desserts, mixed with other sweeter fruits. All three varieties have a texture similar to kiwi with floral notes.
Dragon Fruits are loaded with fiber and are rich in vitamins C and A, magnesium, niacin, and carotenoids. They act as great digestive aids, with the yellow variety having especially powerful detoxifying properties. Just one per day is the perfect addition to your diet!
