Sweet and healthy, Papayas are nature’s superstars. Packed with more vitamin C than oranges and more potassium than bananas, papayas are one of the most nutrient-dense fruits in the world. They are high in fiber, vitamins A & B, antioxidants, and papain, a unique enzyme that acts as an excellent digestive aid. Papayas not only keep you healthy but also taste great.

Cut your papaya lengthwise and remove the black seeds with a spoon. Once the seeds have been discarded, enjoy your papaya by the spoonful. For a beautiful addition to your fruit salad, use a melon baller to scoop out the pulp to create colorful spheres. Enjoy your papaya with a drizzle of lime juice or add it to your favorite smoothie. The possibilities are endless!

For more than thirty years, HLB has successfully sourced and distributed the highest-quality papayas available. We’re known as innovators in the European and North American papaya market and we believe in the power of papayas!
Numerous research studies from around the world, including from Rutgers University and the University of Florida, have documented and confirmed the many health benefits of papayas. They are counted as one of the most nutrient-dense fruits in the world due to their high vitamin and mineral content.

Make papayas your best friends and your body will thank you!

Organic Formosa

The organic Formosa papayas are grown year-round in Mexico. The cropping area is located in a secluded area, where a protected microclimate allows for the right conditions to grow the fruit organically.

GOLDEN

Golden papayas are the smaller variety grown in Brazil and weigh an average of one pound. The size makes Golden papayas ideal for individual consumption. Ready to eat when the skin is turning yellow, the pulp is bright orange, sweet, and juicy. As all our papayas, Goldens are always non-GMO.

Samba®

Inspired by Brazil’s carnival and love of music, our exclusive Samba is only available through HLB Specialties (Tropical Food for HLB EU). Samba papayas are a favorite among papaya lovers. Slightly larger than the Goldens, this variety has a wonderful floral aroma and is exceptionally sweet and juicy.

INTENZZA

The Intenzza Papayas are a sweet hybrid variety that was developed and grown year-round in Mexico and offer the same nutritional benefits as other large papayas. They are similar in shape and weight to the Tainung papayas but have the ripening characteristics of the Maradol variety. They are not genetically modified and are ready to eat when the skin has turned almost completely yellow.
